“So public transportation for me, being on a paratransit bus allows me anonymity, if you will, even in a crowd I can sit by myself with my own thoughts, my own discomforts and not have to rise to the occasion for anybody else. And that's why I really, really, really, really wish I had more access to paratransit because it's, it's it just requires a tremendous amount of energy to constantly ask (for) favors and ride.”
“I feel safe in the area that I live, and mostly safe while riding public transportation, though it depends on the time of day.”
“If you gotta get somewhere, you gotta get somewhere. And if you don't have no other way then you’re gonna be on that bus for as long as it takes to get there. If I had a regular car, maybe I’d feel a little different. But like I said, if you’ve gotta get to that doctor’s appointment for your kids, I plan for four hours out, so obviously I do long trips. You gotta do what you gotta do. And it’s helping you get somewhere in life that you wouldn’t be able to, like, I know it’s hard, but the bus has got me a lot of places and helped me in so many ways.”
